Just bought this one, should be fun !! 😳
So here is the story on this guitar, It's been all over the US........the original owner who I purchased this from writes......
"I was an Yamaha endorser in the 1990s, the Yamaha custom shop in North Hollywood put this guitar together for me. The neck is really thin and flat! The neck is also very straight as you can see from one of the pictures above. This guitar has been all over the US, the original case, like many of my cases were trashed by the airlines so I threw it away. There is no case with this guitar. There are very few dings on the guitar and the 5 position switch, in the middle position featuring the single coil pickup, this is not very loud, I think it's the switch.
There is no cover plate for the tremolo springs on the back of the guitar. There was a Roland GK-2A on this guitar so I cut the pickup ring on the bridge pickup, so I could fit the GK pickup between the bridge pickup and bridge. I was a Roland clinician and I used this guitar to demo guitar synths and the VG-99. There are also some screw holes where the GK was screwed down. It would be easy to install a new pickup ring and fill the screw holes. As you can see there is a hole where the original volume control was. I took out the tone control and moved the volume to the tone position and left the volume control hole. This could easily be plugged.
The knife edges on the Floyd are in great shape, the tremolo returns to tuning perfect, when pulling up or down on the bar. This Floyd Rose, licensed tremolo clamps the strings at the bridge but it also allows the ball end of the string to stay on, the string goes through the back of the guitar a bit like a strat. This guitar was made in Japan in 2002. I received two of these guitars at the LA custom shop in North Hollywood. The other guitar is blue, I love both guitars but the sparkle is a little flashy for me. Here's a video of me playing this guitar yesterday Oct. 19, 2017.

All,
Leslie Petrie and I have set up a new page for Yamaha SGs and SG info sharing, called The Yamaha SG Fellowship, this was done due to developments in the Yamaha SG Appreciation Society. We feel this page can exist peacefully alongside the Yamaha 80’s and 90’s. We could do with some support for that page too. As it’s in it’s infancy, it’s still under development, have a look, and support if you can. I will continue to support this great forum too.....Cheers Joey
